This year, the team at Education World alongside our collegues at Temp Team and Erik Juhler have been working tirelessly to raise money for a very worthy local charity- the Children's Heart Unit Fund at the Freeman Hospital(CHUF). CHUF’s mission is to make life better for children and young people who are born with or develop heart conditions by providing lifelong support to them and their families.
As part of our fundraising attempts, we arranged to take part in the Yorkshire Three Peak Challenge. Our teams were challenged to take on the peaks of Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough, totalling 26 miles...all in under 12 hours!
I think it's fair to say this proved to be a gruelling challenge but minus a few minor injuries, our teams managed to complete this challenge in under the allotted time.
Well done and thank you to everyone who got involved, from the fantastic team who volunteered their time to do the climb to the generous sponsors who ensured we hit our target. We're very proud to have completed this challenge and to have raised over £1000 for CHUF. The staff at the Children's Heart Unit have decided to use our donation to purchase some stimulating games for the children to play with during their stay on the ward. We sincerely hope that this will make these brave children smile a little during what we know must be a very challenging time in both theirs and their families lives.
