Internal Quality Assurer (IQA) – Casual Role (South Tyneside, 2025/26 Academic Year)

Are you an experienced Internal Quality Assurer (IQA) looking for a flexible, rewarding role in the education sector? Do you have a passion for ensuring high standards in Functional Skills Maths and English delivery and assessment? If so, this is an exciting opportunity to support a brand-new Alternative Provision in South Tyneside on a casual basis throughout the 2025/26 academic year.

This provision is dedicated to supporting learners aged 14 to 25 who require a personalised and flexible learning approach, helping them gain essential qualifications and life skills.

The Role:

  • Provide internal quality assurance for Functional Skills Maths and English at Level 1 & 2, ensuring assessment meets awarding body standards.
  • Work flexibly across the academic year, conducting sampling, standardisation meetings, and supporting assessors as required.
  • Ensure compliance with Ofqual and awarding body regulations, maintaining accurate records of IQA activities.
  • Offer constructive feedback and guidance to assessors to maintain high-quality delivery and assessment.
  • Support the provision in achieving consistently high success rates and learner outcomes.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Holds a recognised IQA qualification (e.g., V1, TAQA Level 4, or equivalent).
  • Has experience in Functional Skills Maths and English quality assurance.
  • Understands alternative provisions, PRUs, SEMH settings, or learners with additional needs.
  • Has a keen eye for detail, ensuring fair, valid, and reliable assessment practices.
  • Holds (or is willing to obtain) an enhanced DBS check on the update service.
