Education World are recruiting for a dedicated, hardworking and enthusiastic Computer Science Teacher to work in a Good/Outstanding School in Sheffield, working 2 days a week from September 2024.

Job Description

As a Part-Time Computer Science Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and comprehensive lessons to students, fostering a positive and interactive learning environment. Your role will include:

  • Planning and delivering high-quality Computer Science lessons in accordance with the curriculum.
  • Assessing and evaluating student progress through assignments, projects, and exams.
  • Providing feedback and support to students to help them achieve their full potential.
  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of developments in Computer Science education.
  • Collaborating with colleagues to develop resources and share best practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach Computer Science to KS3/4 students.
  • Develop lesson plans and instructional materials.
  • Use a variety of teaching methods to facilitate student learning.
  • Monitor and report on student progress.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and professional development opportunities.
  • Maintain a positive, inclusive, and safe classroom environment.
  • Communicate with pupils, parents and carers
  • Participate in arrangements for their own further training and professional development and, where appropriate, that of other teachers and support staff including induction.
  • Promote the safety and well-being of pupils.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, QTS).
  • Proven experience teaching Computer Science at the secondary school level.
  • Strong knowledge of the Computer Science curriculum and current teaching practices.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students.
