We are looking for a passionate, proactive and enthusiastic Maths Teacher to support the learning of pupils in one of our inspirational Behavioural Units in Newcastle on a full-time and long-term basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to build positive relationships with pupils and have a long-term, positive impact on their lives, progress and development.

About the Role:

  • The role will involve planning and teaching engaging and informative lessons that inspire pupils with a wide range of SEND and allows all pupils to make progress.
  • Working with Secondary aged pupils within a unit setting within a mainstream school.
  • Building positive relationships with pupils and staff to create excellent learning environments.
  • Managing challenging behaviour in a positive, proactive and consistent manner
  • Differentiating lessons appropriately to suit the needs and earning styles of all pupils.
  • Using varied methods of assessment to assess pupil progress
  • Displaying high levels of enthusiasm, energy and positivity when working with children.
  • Working effectively with Teaching Assistants to ensure children receive the best possible educational experience

  • The role is based in an inspirational unit setting in Newcastle.
  • The School supports pupils across the Secondary School age range and there are opportunities to support pupils across all years groups
  • The School has a supportive culture and Leadership Team, where staff work as a Team within classrooms to provide high standards of support to pupils.

Pay, Hours and Contract:

  • Pay - Between £150-211 per day
  • Hours - 08.00-15.00
  • Contract - Full-time until the end of the Academic Year in July 2025. Temporary Contract.
  • Start Date - ASAP.
  • Location - Newcastle

Experience/Qualifications and Requirements:

  • An Enhanced DBS (ideally on the Update Service but this is not essential as we can process a new one for you)
  • QTS and Teaching experience in either Primary or Secondary School settings within the UK.
  • Strong Behaviour Management skills
  • Experience of utilising a range of methods to assess pupil progress
  • Strong knowledge of the Maths curriculum.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with an ability to build rapport
  • A positive and resilient attitude towards Teaching and work
  • Experience of Teaching within the UK
  • A genuine passion for Teaching
  • Strong organisation and communication skills
