Why do we have a privacy policy?
EDUCATION WORLD Ltd is committed to privacy for everyone who uses our services and accesses our Website. We must comply with certain requirements which are designed to ensure that any data you provide to us is processed fairly and with care and attention.

What sort of data do we collect?
EDUCATION WORLD Ltd is an Employment Agency/Business and collects personal data about you to provide you with work-finding services. Personal data consists of information including your name, address, e-mail address, National Insurance number, bank details (this is only for paying your wages), work and education history and your responses to and the results of assessments plus details of your eligibility to work.

We also collect and process sensitive personal data, such as information on physical and mental health, sexual orientation, race or ethnic origin, religious beliefs and criminal records only so far as is necessary and to comply with legislation.

How do we process this personal and special personal data?
We process this data as necessary to help find you suitable employment, to fulfil our obligations under our contract with you, such as processing payroll and processing your pension contributions and to comply with relevant regulations and legislation. We do not use fully automated decision-making or profiling to assess your suitability for roles.

Do we pass data to third parties?
We may pass data to Third Parties where we are required to by regulations or legislation, such as HMRC and Pension providers and to prospective or intended employers (or third parties assisting them in the recruitment process) and to our clients to allow you to carry out your temporary assignment with them.

How is this data safeguarded?
The security of your data is extremely important to us. Access to your personal data is only provided to our staff and Third Parties as stated above. We will retain your data no longer than is necessary; Because we process wages for Temporary Workers we need to retain data for 6 years after their last assignment ends to comply with our obligations to HMRC, the Pensions Regulator and Limitation Act 1980. For Work-Seekers where we have not processed payroll, the Conduct of Employment Agencies and Employment Business Regulations 2003 dictate that we retain their data for 1 year. Following the relevant period we will dispose of your data securely.

If we suffer a data breach, e.g. a loss or theft of personal data we will inform the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) and if there is a high risk to you we will tell you.

Can you see the data we hold about you?
You have the right to make a subject access request (SAR) we will respond to you within 1 month; this can be extended to 2 months in certain circumstances. Please Note; we will ask to verify your identity before releasing the data to you. We will not charge you or refuse to respond to your SAR unless you have made repeated requests for the same information.

How do you correct or remove your data?
You have the right to request that we correct any incomplete or inaccurate data about you or that we delete data that we hold about you.

How do we let you know if our policy changes?
Any policy changes, either due to business reasons or future changes in legislation, will be posted on our website.

Complaints
We hope we can resolve any concerns that you may about the data we hold about you and how we collect, process, store and delete it, however you have the right the complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO.)
