We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN School Teaching Assistant to join our vibrant team in County Durham. This full-time role supports adults and young people aged 16 to 24 years with moderate to severe learning difficulties and delayed learning, aligning with our school's ethos of fostering individual growth, inclusion, and personalised support.
The successful candidate will contribute to creating a nurturing environment that promotes independence and confidence, reflecting our commitment to empowering each learner to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide personalised support to students aged 16 to 24 with moderate to severe learning difficulties, delayed learning, and additional needs, ensuring their individualised education plans are implemented effectively.
- Assist in the delivery of tailored learning activities that promote social, emotional, and academic development in accordance with the school's inclusive ethos.
- Support students with daily living skills, encouraging independence and confidence in their abilities.
- Supervise and support students during classroom activities, breaks, and leisure periods, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment.
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to plan and implement strategies that meet each student’s unique needs.
- Support students with personal care, mobility, and behavioural needs, always maintaining dignity and respect.
- Monitor and record students’ progress, behaviour, and achievements, contributing to ongoing assessments and reports.
- Foster positive relationships with students, promoting a respectful and caring atmosphere that aligns with the school’s values of inclusion and respect.
- Participate in team meetings and professional development opportunities to enhance understanding of best practices in special education.
