We have some news worth celebrating. The mangrove reforestation project in Lombok, Indonesia, that we announced in partnership with Treeapp and the Juhler Group back in 2024 has now reached its planting goal. The forest has been restored.

When we launched this initiative, we set out to contribute to something meaningful alongside our day-to-day work supporting schools and educators. What started with the planting of 37,338 trees has grown into something considerably larger, and we are proud of what has been achieved.

If you missed our original article about why we chose Indonesia's mangroves and how the partnership with Treeapp works, you can read it here.

What We Have Achieved Together

As part of the wider Juhler Group collaboration with Treeapp, the combined impact of this partnership since July 2024 speaks for itself. Across the group, 184,188 trees have been planted, with an estimated 20,076 tonnes of CO₂ to be absorbed over the course of the trees' lifetimes. More than 1,228,534 m² of land has been reforested and 1,842 workdays have been created for local communities in the process.

Those are not just numbers on a page. They represent restored coastline, marine habitats returning to health, communities with sustainable work and an ecosystem that will continue to absorb carbon and protect the people around it for decades to come.

Next Stop: Tanzania

Completing the Indonesia project is a milestone, but it is not the end. Our partnership with Treeapp continues and the next phase is already underway.

We are now supporting the Mkussu Nature Forest reforestation project in Tanzania. The project aims to restore a sustainable habitat, strengthen local education opportunities and protect wildlife, while continuing to help reduce CO₂ levels in the atmosphere.

The connection to education feels particularly fitting for us. Supporting communities and the opportunities available to young people sits at the heart of what Education World is about, and it is genuinely encouraging to see that reflected in the work being done on the ground in Tanzania.

Thank You

None of this happens without the candidates and schools we work with every day. Every placement Education World makes plants a tree. That means every teacher we find a role for, every school we support with supply staff and every candidate we help into their next position has contributed directly to this.

So thank you. The forest in Indonesia exists in part because of the work this community does together. We are looking forward to saying the same about Tanzania.
