Year 6 Teacher – Stockton Area
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Year 6 Teacher to join a welcoming and supportive primary school in the Stockton-on-Tees area. As a Year 6 Teacher, you will play a key role in preparing pupils for the transition to secondary education while supporting their confidence, progress, and wellbeing throughout the academic year.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons in line with the Key Stage 2 national curriculum.
- Support pupils of varying abilities to achieve their academic potential.
- As a Year 6 Teacher, assess, monitor, and report on pupil progress.
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes engagement and achievement.
- Support pupils in preparation for SATs and transition into secondary school.
- Differentiate lessons and resources to meet the needs of all learners.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and wider school staff to support pupil development.
- Ensure safeguarding procedures and school policies are followed at all times.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- Previous primary teaching experience – essential.
- Experience teaching within Key Stage 2, ideally Year 6 – desirable.
- Strong classroom management and communication skills.
- A good understanding of the Key Stage 2 curriculum and assessment requirements.
- The ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
- A proactive, adaptable, and professional approach.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
