Crafting Connections: Education World's Free Crafternoon Sessions for Schools
Education World recently kicked off one of its first ‘Crafternoon’ sessions at a primary school in Cramlington, and it was a fantastic experience!
Led by our very own Charlotte - an arts-and-crafts enthusiast and qualified teacher - Last month's sessions brought together history, creativity, and hands-on learning in a way that truly engaged the Year 5 students.
The theme of the sessions was Remembrance Day, aligning perfectly with the students’ recent history lessons. As the children crafted their own paper poppies and creative commemorative displays, it was clear how much they had already learned about the significance of Remembrance Day. Charlotte was thrilled to see their enthusiasm and historical knowledge come to life through art, and the hands-on nature of the session made it a memorable experience for everyone involved.
Giving Back to Our Schools
At Education World, we’re committed to giving back to our schools and supporting them in ways that go beyond recruitment. Crafternoons are just one of the ways we’re doing that. Charlotte, who runs the sessions, explains:
We understand the unique challenges and needs of classrooms, and we aim to enrich students' learning experiences with engaging activities that support the curriculum. Every session is carefully planned to complement current classroom topics, helping students connect with subjects like Remembrance Day or local history in meaningful and creative ways.
Many of our consultants, like Charlotte, are qualified teachers themselves, bringing classroom experience and expertise directly into these sessions. This background allows us to run sessions that are not only creative but also well-structured, educational, and impactful. Activities like Crafternoon add real value for students and teachers alike, helping to foster a love of learning while building meaningful connections with our partner schools.
Limited Crafternoon Slots Available for the Holiday Season
With the holiday season upon us, Charlotte is excited to be offering a few limited, free Crafternoon sessions to select schools. This is a wonderful opportunity for students to get hands-on with seasonal crafts and bring a bit of festive spirit into the classroom. If you’d like to learn more about these limited holiday sessions and how Education World is supporting schools in the run-up to Christmas, please get in touch!
Our Crafternoon sessions are just one way Education World is working to make a positive impact in schools. By combining creativity with learning, we’re excited to bring students an experience that not only supports the curriculum but also makes learning fun and memorable.
