Welcoming our 2024 Overseas Teachers

Celebrating a successful Welcome Day for our latest cohort of Overseas Trained Teachers (OTTs)

At Education World, our mission is to support overseas teachers as they embark on new roles in the UK. Recently, we celebrated a successful Welcome Day for our latest cohort of Overseas Trained Teachers (OTTs). Led by Richard and Lauren from our Perm Team, the event was packed with insightful sessions, practical guidance, and a whole lot of community spirit. Here’s a look at what made this Welcome Day so special - and why we’re proud of each teacher in this cohort.

Making the Transition Smooth and Enjoyable

For teachers relocating from different countries, adjusting to life in the UK can be a big step. That’s why we’re so dedicated to providing all the support our OTTs need to feel comfortable and prepared. This Welcome Day went above and beyond with detailed sessions on navigating life in the UK, from cultural integration to setting up essential services like banking and mobile plans.

The group was buzzing with energy as teachers shared their questions and experiences. Together, we created an open, supportive space where teachers could connect with each other, share insights, and enjoy the start of their journey.

Training for Success in the Classroom

One of the highlights of the Welcome Day was the practical training provided by Richard and Lauren. As experienced members of our Team and as experienced educators and school leaders themselves, they led sessions on everything our teachers need to know to thrive in UK classrooms. The training covered curriculum expectations, classroom management tips, and the ins and outs of the UK’s educational system. Each teacher left with newfound confidence and a toolkit for success in their roles.

Building a Global Community of Educators

At Education World, we’re all about creating a sense of community, and this Welcome Day was no exception. By bringing together teachers from diverse backgrounds and cultures, we’re building a network that goes beyond the classroom. These connections offer both personal and professional support, helping teachers feel at home and excel in their roles.

Our latest cohort brings incredible skills and perspectives to UK schools, and we’re excited to see the positive impact they’ll make on students and colleagues alike. Each teacher has been recognised for their passion and dedication, and it’s a privilege to support them as they start this new chapter.

Support That Goes Beyond Day One

Our support didn’t stop at the Welcome Day. We continue to be committed to continuous guidance, from visa assistance and accommodation help to ongoing professional development. Our team is here to make sure each teacher feels valued, supported, and set up for success in their new environment.

A Look to the Future

This Welcome Day was just the beginning for these dedicated educators, and we’re thrilled to be part of their journey. As each teacher steps into their new role, we’re confident they’ll make a lasting impact on their students and schools. At Education World, we’re proud to build a community of passionate educators, one Welcome Day at a time.
