Admissions Officer – Tower Hamlets
We are seeking a highly organised and professional Admissions Officer to join a successful and welcoming secondary school in Tower Hamlets. As an Admissions Officer, you will be responsible for managing the admissions process from initial enquiries through to enrolment, ensuring all procedures are carried out efficiently, accurately, and in line with local authority and school policies. You will act as a key point of contact for families, staff, and external agencies, helping to maintain accurate pupil records and supporting the smooth operation of the school's administrative functions.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of the pupil admissions process from enquiry to enrolment.
- Process applications and maintain accurate admissions records and databases.
- Act as the first point of contact for prospective parents, carers, and students regarding admissions enquiries.
- Liaise with local authorities and other external agencies regarding admissions and pupil transfers.
- Organise and coordinate school tours, open events, and admissions meetings where required.
- Maintain accurate student records in line with GDPR and school policies.
- Prepare admissions reports, correspondence, and documentation.
- Support the wider administration team with general office duties as required.
- Ensure compliance with admissions legislation, school policies, and safeguarding procedures.
Contribute to providing an efficient, professional, and welcoming front-of-house service.
Essential Criteria
- Previous experience working in an administrative role within a school, college, or educational setting.
- Strong administrative and organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Experience managing confidential information and maintaining accurate records.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a busy environment.
- Strong customer service skills and the ability to build positive relationships with families and colleagues.
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
Preferred Criteria
- Previous experience working specifically within school admissions.
- Experience using school Management Information Systems (MIS), such as Bromcom, SIMS, Arbor, or similar platforms.
- Knowledge of school admissions procedures and local authority admissions processes.
- Experience coordinating events, appointments, or stakeholder communications.
- Understanding of GDPR and data protection requirements within education.
- Experience working within a secondary school environment.
