The Role

As an Economics Teacher, you will:

  • Teach Economics at Key Stage 5, delivering engaging and challenging lessons that inspire students to achieve their full potential.
  • Plan and deliver high-quality learning experiences that develop students' analytical, evaluative, and critical thinking skills.
  • Use current economic issues and real-world examples to bring the subject to life.
  • Assess, monitor, and support student progress to ensure excellent outcomes.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and departmental initiatives.
  • Support students with university applications, particularly those pursuing Economics, Finance, Business, and related degree pathways.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain high standards of teaching and learning.

The Ideal Candidate

The successful Economics Teacher will:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • Have experience teaching Economics, ideally at Key Stage 5.
  • Demonstrate excellent subject knowledge and a passion for Economics education.
  • Have high expectations of student achievement and behaviour.
  • Possess strong classroom management and communication skills.
  • Be committed to creating an inclusive learning environment where all students can thrive.
  • Be enthusiastic about contributing to a successful and ambitious sixth form provision.

Applications are welcomed from both experienced Economics Teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs) with a strong academic background in Economics.
