Education World is looking for passionate and motivated Early Career Teachers (ECTs) to join welcoming primary schools across Gateshead. This is a fantastic opportunity for newly qualified teachers to gain valuable experience, develop their teaching practice, and make a positive impact on pupils’ learning and development.
The Role
As an ECT, you will deliver high-quality, engaging lessons while receiving the support and guidance needed to thrive in your early teaching career. You will work within a nurturing, collaborative environment where pupils feel encouraged and inspired to achieve their best.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver lessons in line with the National Curriculum, with support and guidance from experienced staff
- Assess pupil progress and adapt teaching to meet individual needs
- Foster positive behaviour and a safe, inclusive classroom environment
- Build strong relationships with pupils, colleagues, and parents
- Participate in induction, mentoring, and professional development opportunities as part of your ECT programme
The Ideal Candidate
- Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Is recently qualified or completing their induction period as an ECT
- Demonstrates enthusiasm, creativity, and a commitment to pupil learning
- Has strong communication and organisational skills
- Is committed to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing
