The Role

As an English & Drama Teacher, you will:

  • Teach English across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the opportunity to teach Key Stage 5 for suitable candidates.
  • Deliver engaging Drama lessons that encourage creativity, confidence, and self-expression.
  • Plan and deliver high-quality lessons that challenge, inspire, and motivate learners.
  • Foster a passion for reading, writing, speaking, and performance both inside and outside the classroom.
  • Assess, monitor, and support student progress to ensure excellent outcomes.
  • Contribute to the continued development of the English and Drama curriculum.
  • Support extracurricular activities, including school productions, performances, clubs, and enrichment opportunities.

The Ideal Candidate

The successful English & Drama Teacher will:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • Have experience teaching English and/or Drama at secondary level.
  • Demonstrate excellent subject knowledge and a genuine passion for English and the performing arts.
  • Have strong classroom management skills and high expectations for student achievement.
  • Be committed to creating an inclusive learning environment where all students can thrive.
  • Be enthusiastic about contributing to a collaborative and forward-thinking department.

ECTs and experienced English & Drama Teachers are encouraged to apply.
