As a Health & Social Care and History Teacher, you will deliver engaging and challenging lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with opportunities to teach Key Stage 5 where appropriate. You will join supportive Humanities and Vocational departments that value collaboration, innovative teaching, and high-quality learning experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, creative, and differentiated History lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.
- Deliver high-quality Health & Social Care lessons across Key Stages 4 and 5 where appropriate.
- Inspire students to develop strong subject knowledge, analytical skills, and an understanding of both historical and health and social care concepts.
- Assess, monitor, and track student progress, using assessment effectively to inform planning and raise attainment.
- Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment where all students can thrive.
- Maintain high standards of behaviour, engagement, and achievement.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to contribute to curriculum development and departmental improvement.
- Participate in the wider life of the school, including enrichment activities where appropriate.
- Ensure safeguarding procedures and school policies are followed at all times.
Essential Criteria
- UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential.
- The ability to teach History across Key Stages 3 and 4.
- The ability to teach Health & Social Care at Key Stage 4, with Key Stage 5 experience desirable.
- Strong subject knowledge across both curriculum areas.
- Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.
- The ability to deliver engaging, inclusive, and differentiated lessons.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
Preferred Criteria
- Experience teaching Key Stage 5 Health & Social Care.
- Previous experience delivering successful outcomes across both Humanities and Vocational subjects.
- Experience contributing to curriculum development.
- A willingness to contribute to extracurricular activities and the wider life of the school.
- A passion for continuous professional development and collaborative working.
