  • Create a safe, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment where all pupils can thrive.
  • Adapt teaching strategies and resources to support a range of learning needs and abilities.
  • Assess, monitor, and record pupil progress, using assessment to inform planning and individual support.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, SENCOs, therapists, parents, and external agencies to provide holistic support for pupils.
  • Support pupils’ communication, emotional regulation, social development, and independence.
  • Promote positive behaviour and implement effective behaviour management strategies.
  • Contribute to EHCP reviews, reports, and pupil support plans where required.
  • Ensure safeguarding procedures and school policies are followed at all times.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential.
  • Experience working with pupils with special educational needs and disabilities.
  • A strong understanding of SEND strategies, inclusive teaching practices, and differentiated learning.
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and behaviour management skills.
  • A patient, nurturing, and adaptable approach to teaching and learning.
  • The ability to build positive relationships with pupils, families, and colleagues.
