  • Help the pupil engage with learning tasks, building understanding, confidence, and independence.
  • Support social, emotional, and behavioural development, promoting positive learning habits.
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement personalised strategies and learning plans as a 1:1 Teaching Assistant.
  • Monitor the pupil’s progress, keeping detailed records to inform future planning and interventions.
  • Facilitate inclusion within the classroom, encouraging participation in group activities and fostering positive peer relationships.
  • Support the pupil with additional needs, implementing interventions recommended by specialists.
  • Maintain a safe, nurturing, and structured environment in line with safeguarding and school policies.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • A relevant Teaching Assistant qualification.
  • Experience working as a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, ideally supporting SEN pupils.
  • Previous experience working with primary-aged children.
  • A patient, caring, and flexible approach, with a genuine passion for helping children succeed.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to build positive relationships with pupils, parents, and staff.
