Food Technology Teacher – South Tyneside (ASAP Start | Full-Time)

 

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Food Technology Teacher to join a well-established and supportive secondary school in South Tyneside. As a Food Technology Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and practical lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, encouraging students to develop essential life skills, creativity, and confidence in the kitchen.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging and practical lessons as a Food Technology Teacher across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.
  • Teach key concepts including nutrition, food preparation, hygiene, and safety.
  • As a Food Technology Teacher, ensure all lessons are delivered in a safe and well-managed practical environment.
  • Use effective assessment strategies to monitor and support student progress.
  • Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of all learners, including those with SEND.
  • Maintain high expectations for behaviour and achievement.
  • Contribute to the development of the Technology curriculum and departmental resources.
  • Ensure safeguarding procedures and school policies are followed at all times.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • A valid UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in Food Technology or Design & Technology – essential.
  • Experience working as a Food Technology Teacher within a secondary school setting.
  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for practical teaching.
  • Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.
  • The ability to create engaging and inclusive learning experiences.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people.
