Teaching Assistant – Whickham

As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting students across the classroom, helping to create a positive and engaging learning environment throughout the school day.
Key Responsibilities
- Support teaching and learning as a Teaching Assistant, working with individuals and small groups.
- Provide classroom support to students across a range of subjects and abilities.
- As a Teaching Assistant, assist in managing behaviour and promoting a positive learning environment.
- Work closely with teachers to support student progress and engagement.
- Adapt resources and activities to meet the needs of different learners.
- Build positive relationships with students to support confidence and participation.
- Monitor and report on student progress where required.
- Ensure safeguarding procedures and school policies are followed at all times.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- Previous experience working within a secondary school setting – essential.
- Experience working as a Teaching Assistant or supporting young people in an educational environment.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Excellent behaviour management and interpersonal skills.
- A proactive, patient, and adaptable approach.
- The ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people.
