Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join a thriving Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) setting in Newcastle. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about supporting students with additional needs and making a positive impact on their educational journey.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one support to a secondary student with SEMH needs
- Assist in implementing individualized education plans
- Support the student's academic, social, and emotional development
- Collaborate with teachers and other staff members
- Maintain accurate records of student progress
Requirements:
- Experience working with children with SEMH needs
- Patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills
- Ability to remain calm in challenging situations
- Knowledge of safeguarding procedures
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Teaching Assistance) preferred
