We are seeking a committed and experienced Design Technology Teacher to join a vibrant and forward-thinking secondary school in the Newcastle area from December 2025. This is a part-time role covering a maternity leave until the end of the academic year.

 

The school is part of a supportive network of local schools and prides itself on being inclusive, progressive, and focused on delivering high-quality teaching and learning experiences.

 

The Role:

  • Deliver engaging DT lessons to students in Key Stages 3 and 4
  • KS5 English Language or Literature teaching is desirable but not essential
  • Plan, prepare, and assess learning in line with curriculum objectives
  • Contribute to the wider school community and work collaboratively with colleagues

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Hold QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent teaching qualification
  • Have experience teaching DT at KS3 and KS4 (KS5 experience is a bonus)
  • Be passionate about resistant materials and committed to student progress
  • Hold certificates for hand tools, pillar drill and band saw
  • Demonstrate strong classroom management and effective communication skills
