English Teacher - SEMH Provision
Location: Newcastle Upon Tyne
Setting: SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) Provision
Start Date: ASAP
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM
Salary: £130 - £210 per day
Contract: Temporary with potential for permanent position
Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced English Teacher to join a thriving SEMH provision in Newcastle. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality English lessons to students with social, emotional, and mental health needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging English lessons tailored to SEMH students
- Adapt teaching strategies to meet individual student needs
- Assess and monitor student progress
- Collaborate with other staff members to support student wellbeing
- Maintain a positive and supportive learning environment
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Experience teaching English at secondary level
- Understanding of SEMH needs and appropriate interventions
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Patience, resilience, and a passion for working with challenging students
