We are seeking reliable and proactive Facilities Operators to join a supportive and well-established educational setting in the Newcastle area. As a Facilities Operator, you will play a key role in supporting the upkeep, cleanliness, and general maintenance of the school environment to ensure facilities remain safe, functional, and welcoming at all times.
 

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the day-to-day management and maintenance of school facilities and site areas.
  • Carry out general cleaning, maintenance, and basic repairs where required.
  • As a Facilities Operator, ensure the site remains safe, secure, and well-presented at all times.
  • Assist with room setups, furniture movement, and site preparation for school activities and events.
  • Monitor cleaning standards and support wider site and facilities operations.
  • Report maintenance, health and safety, or security concerns promptly.
  • Work collaboratively with site staff, contractors, and wider school teams.
  • Ensure safeguarding procedures and school policies are followed at all times.
     

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • Previous experience managing facilities, site operations, or cleaning services – essential.
  • A good understanding of health and safety procedures.
  • Strong practical and organisational skills.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A proactive, flexible, and reliable approach.
  • Good communication and problem-solving skills.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people.
