KS4 Science Teacher – Durham (Full-Time)
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated KS4 Science Teacher to join a supportive secondary education setting in the East Durham area. This is an exciting opportunity for a committed KS4 Science Teacher to deliver engaging, high-quality lessons and inspire students to achieve their potential in Science.
As a KS4 Science Teacher, you will be responsible for teaching GCSE-level Science, monitoring student progress, and supporting learners to develop both their subject knowledge and confidence. You will work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain high standards and create a positive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, well-structured lessons as a KS4 Science Teacher across GCSE Science subjects.
- Use effective assessment strategies to track student progress and inform future learning.
- Support students in developing practical and theoretical skills, as well as exam techniques.
- As a KS4 Science Teacher, differentiate lessons to meet the needs of all learners, including those with SEND.
- Create a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop the Science curriculum and departmental resources.
- Promote high expectations for behaviour and achievement.
- Ensure safeguarding procedures and school policies are followed at all times.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- A valid Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a Science specialism – essential.
- Experience teaching Science at KS4/GCSE level.
- Strong subject knowledge and a passion for inspiring students in Science.
- Excellent classroom management and organisational skills.
- A commitment to inclusive practice and supporting all learners.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people.
