MFL Teacher – Gateshead
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated MFL Teacher to join a welcoming and supportive secondary school in Gateshead. This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic MFL Teacher who is committed to delivering high-quality language lessons and inspiring students to develop a love for modern foreign languages.
As an MFL Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and well-structured lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, with the potential to teach Key Stage 5 depending on experience. The successful MFL Teacher will play a key role in developing students’ communication skills, cultural awareness, and confidence in both French and German.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging and well-structured lessons as an MFL Teacher across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.
- Teach French and German to GCSE level.
- Use effective assessment for learning (AFL) strategies to monitor and support student progress.
- As an MFL Teacher, differentiate lessons to meet the needs of all learners, including those with SEND.
- Create a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment.
- Support students in developing speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills.
- Contribute to the development of the MFL curriculum and departmental resources.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to support teaching and learning.
- Ensure safeguarding procedures and school policies are followed at all times.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- A valid Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential.
- Experience working as an MFL Teacher teaching both French and German – essential.
- Strong subject knowledge in both languages.
- Excellent classroom management and organisational skills.
- A passion for languages and cultural education.
- A commitment to inclusive teaching and supporting all learners.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people.
