We are seeking a caring and enthusiastic Nursery Assistant to join a supportive and welcoming Early Years team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated Nursery Assistant who is passionate about helping young children learn, grow, and develop in a nurturing and stimulating environment.

 

The successful Nursery Assistant will support the Nursery Teacher and wider Early Years team in providing high-quality care and early years education, ensuring children feel safe, happy, and engaged throughout their day.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Nursery Teacher in delivering engaging activities in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
• Help create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment where children can explore, play, and learn.
• As a Nursery Assistant, support children’s social, emotional, and educational development through play-based learning.
• Assist with observing children’s progress and contribute to learning records and assessments.
• Provide individual and small-group support as a Nursery Assistant to help meet the needs of all children, including those with additional needs.
• Promote positive behaviour and support children in developing independence, confidence, and strong social skills.
• Assist with daily nursery routines, including meal times, play activities, and transitions throughout the day.
• Work collaboratively with teachers and other staff members to support children’s wellbeing and development.
• Build positive relationships with parents and carers, helping to create a welcoming and supportive nursery environment.
• Ensure safeguarding procedures and health and safety requirements are always followed by the Nursery Assistant team.

The Ideal Nursery Assistant Will Have

• A relevant childcare qualification (such as Level 2 or Level 3 in Early Years or Childcare) or relevant nursery experience.
• A good understanding of the EYFS framework and early childhood development.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• A caring, patient, and enthusiastic approach when working as a Nursery Assistant.
• The ability to support engaging learning experiences through play and interaction.
• A strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

This role would suit a Nursery Assistant who is passionate about Early Years education and enjoys supporting young children as they take their first steps in learning and development.
