The Role


This role is ideal for someone with a caring nature, strong communication skills, and experience supporting children with additional needs.

You’ll work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and external professionals to provide tailored support that helps the pupils engage with learning and develop essential life skills.

 

What We’re Looking For

  • Previous experience supporting children with complex needs, autism, or physical disabilities.
  • A calm, patient, and nurturing approach to behaviour and communication
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team
  • Strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of pupils
  • Relevant qualifications in SEN support, health and social care, or education (desirable but not essential)

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 classroom and pastoral support to pupils with complex needs
  • Implement personalised learning plans under the direction of the SENCO and class teacher
  • Use positive behaviour strategies and communication aids effectively
  • Support the pupil’s physical, emotional, and academic development
  • Liaise with parents, staff, and external agencies to ensure consistent care and support
