Nursery Assistant x2 – Newcastle
We are currently seeking two caring and enthusiastic Nursery Assistants to join welcoming and supportive early years settings in Newcastle. This is a fantastic opportunity for dedicated practitioners who are passionate about supporting young children during the earliest stages of their development and helping them build confidence, curiosity, and a love of learning.
As a Nursery Assistant, you will work closely with nursery teams to support children in a nurturing, engaging, and stimulating environment where they can learn through play and exploration.
Key Responsibilities
- Support daily activities and routines as a Nursery Assistant, helping to create a safe, engaging, and welcoming learning environment.
- Assist with play-based learning activities that support children’s communication, language, and early numeracy development.
- Provide attentive care and supervision to young children throughout the day.
- Support children’s social and emotional development, encouraging confidence, independence, and positive behaviour.
- Work collaboratively with nursery staff to support learning, development, and wellbeing.
- Assist with setting up and tidying learning areas and resources.
- Observe and support children’s progress, sharing feedback with senior staff where appropriate.
- Ensure safeguarding procedures and health and safety requirements are always followed.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- An Early Years qualification (desirable).
- Experience working with young children in a nursery or early years setting.
- A caring, patient, and enthusiastic approach when supporting young learners.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- A genuine passion for supporting early childhood development.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
