Nursery Senior Room Lead – North London

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Room Lead to join the Early Years provision of a highly regarded Children's, Young People & Community Centre. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic early years professional who is passionate about delivering outstanding care and education while supporting the development of both children and colleagues within a nurturing environment.

The Early Years provision is well-established and highly respected within the local community, providing high-quality care and education for young children in a welcoming and inclusive setting. The team is committed to creating engaging learning experiences that promote confidence, independence, and a love of learning, ensuring every child receives the support they need to thrive.

As a Senior Room Lead, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day running of your designated room, leading by example to ensure high standards of care, learning, and safeguarding are consistently maintained. You will play a key role in supporting practitioners, building positive relationships with families, and helping to create an exceptional Early Years environment.

This is an ongoing position, offering an excellent opportunity to join a supportive and well-established Early Years team with a strong commitment to professional development and high-quality practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the day-to-day operation of your designated room, ensuring high standards of care and education are maintained.
  • Plan and deliver engaging, play-based learning experiences in line with the EYFS framework.
  • Support children's learning, development, and wellbeing through high-quality interactions and activities.
  • Monitor children's progress and ensure observations, assessments, and learning journeys are completed accurately.
  • Support and guide Early Years Practitioners within the room, promoting best practice at all times.
  • Create a safe, stimulating, and inclusive environment where all children can thrive.
  • Build positive and professional relationships with parents, carers, and external professionals.
  • Ensure safeguarding, health and safety, and welfare requirements are consistently met.
  • Contribute to planning, room organisation, and the ongoing development of the provision.
  • Act as a role model for excellent Early Years practice and support the wider leadership team where required.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • A Level 3 Early Years qualification – essential.
  • Previous experience as an Early Years Practitioner within a nursery or Early Years setting – essential.
  • Experience supporting children's learning and development within the EYFS framework.
  • A strong understanding of child development and Early Years best practice.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and teamwork skills.
  • The confidence to lead a room and support colleagues in delivering high-quality provision.
  • A caring, proactive, and professional approach.
  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
  • A genuine passion for Early Years education and supporting children to achieve their full potential.

This role would suit an experienced Early Years Practitioner who is ready to take the next step in their career, or an existing Room Lead looking for a new opportunity within a supportive and well-resourced setting. The successful candidate will be passionate about creating outstanding learning experiences and helping young children build strong foundations for future success.
