Nursery Teacher – Washington
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Nursery Teacher to join a supportive and welcoming Early Years team. As a Nursery Teacher at our school, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality early years education, supporting children’s development, and fostering strong relationships with families and colleagues.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons and activities in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework as a Nursery Teacher.
- Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment that supports children’s social, emotional, and academic development.
- Observe, assess, and track children’s progress, using assessment to inform future planning.
- Support children in developing communication, language, and early numeracy skills through play-based learning.
- Differentiate activities to meet the needs of all learners, including those with additional needs.
- Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and other members of staff to support children’s learning and wellbeing.
- Build positive relationships with parents and carers, keeping them informed about their child’s progress and development.
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to reports on children’s progress.
- Promote positive behaviour and support children in developing independence and confidence.
- Ensure safeguarding procedures and health and safety requirements are always followed.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a recognised Early Years teaching qualification.
- A strong understanding of the EYFS framework and early childhood development.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- A caring, patient, and enthusiastic approach to working with young children.
- The ability to create engaging learning experiences through play and exploration.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
