SEN Teaching Assistant x2 – Ilford
We are currently seeking two dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistants to join supportive and inclusive schools in Ilford. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals who are passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and helping them overcome barriers to learning in a nurturing and structured environment.
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and SENCOs to provide tailored support that meets the individual needs of pupils, enabling them to access the curriculum and make meaningful progress.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide targeted support as an SEN Teaching Assistant, working with pupils on a one-to-one basis or in small groups.
- Support pupils with a range of additional needs, helping them engage with learning and classroom activities.
- Assist the class teacher in implementing personalised learning plans and behaviour strategies.
- Support pupils’ social, emotional, and behavioural development, promoting confidence and independence.
- Monitor and record progress, providing feedback to teaching staff and SENCOs.
- Foster an inclusive and supportive classroom environment that encourages participation and engagement.
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff and external professionals where required.
- Ensure safeguarding procedures and school policies are followed at all times.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- Experience working with children or young people, ideally supporting SEN.
- A patient, caring, and adaptable approach to supporting pupils with additional needs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
- Good organisational skills and the ability to adapt to the needs of individual learners.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
