SEND Administrator – Gateshead
We are seeking a highly organised and proactive SEND Administrator to join a supportive secondary school in the Gateshead area. This is a new role within the school, offering a fantastic opportunity for an experienced administrator to contribute to the smooth running of the SEND department. The position is initially temporary, with the potential to become permanent based on performance.
As a SEND Administrator, you will provide vital administrative support to the SEND team, ensuring efficient processes, accurate record-keeping, and strong communication with staff, students, and parents. The successful SEND Administrator will help the department run smoothly and support the school in delivering high-quality SEND provision.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive administrative support as a SEND Administrator, including managing records, filing, and updating databases.
- Assist with coordinating meetings, appointments, and communications within the SEND department.
- As a SEND Administrator, support the preparation and monitoring of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and EHCPs.
- Maintain accurate student records and track SEND interventions and outcomes.
- Liaise with teaching staff, parents, carers, and external agencies as required.
- Assist with reporting, data collection, and compliance requirements for the SEND department.
- Ensure confidentiality and compliance with school policies at all times.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- Previous administrative experience – essential.
- Experience working within a SEND setting – preferred but not essential.
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- A proactive and flexible approach to tasks and problem-solving.
