Tutor – Gateshead (In-Person)
We are seeking enthusiastic and experienced Tutors to provide high-quality tuition in Gateshead. This is a fantastic opportunity for educators who are passionate about supporting students in achieving their academic potential through tailored, one-to-one or small group sessions.
As a Tutor, you will deliver engaging, personalised lessons across a range of subjects and key stages, helping students consolidate learning, improve confidence, and achieve their goals. Sessions will be delivered in person, so the successful Tutor must be confident commuting within Gateshead to meet students.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver tailored lessons as a Tutor to support students in their learning and academic progress.
- Assess student needs and adapt teaching approaches to suit individual learning styles.
- Provide support across a variety of subjects and key stages, including core subjects up to GCSE level.
- Build positive relationships with students to encourage engagement, motivation, and confidence.
- Track and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback to support improvement.
- Maintain a professional and safe learning environment at all times.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- Previous experience as a Tutor or in providing one-to-one/small group support – essential.
- Strong subject knowledge in one or more core areas (English, Maths, Science).
- Ability to travel across Gateshead for in-person tuition sessions – essential.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- QTS preferred but not essential.
- Experience supporting pupils with SEND needs – preferred but not essential.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people.
