Inspiring History Teachers Wanted – Opportunities Across the UK
Key Stage 3–4 | Secondary Schools in Birmingham, Norfolk, Yorkshire, and Northamptonshire

Are you a passionate History teacher with a talent for bringing the past to life? Education World is seeking outstanding History teachers to join high-performing secondary schools across the UK – including in London, Birmingham, Norfolk, Yorkshire, and Northamptonshire.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging History lessons to students aged 11–16, in line with the national curriculum.

  • Develop schemes of work that promote historical enquiry, critical thinking, and a love of learning.

  • Monitor and assess student progress to drive strong academic outcomes.

  • Create a classroom culture that values curiosity, debate, and inclusive discussion.

  • Organise or support enriching activities such as history-themed trips, workshops, and school events.

  • Collaborate with colleagues to share resources and continually improve teaching practice.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) 

  • A degree in History or a related subject.

  • Experience teaching History at the secondary level in the UK.

  • Strong subject knowledge and a commitment to evidence-informed practice.

  • Excellent communication and classroom management skills.

  • A genuine passion for making History relevant, engaging, and meaningful for students.
