The role

A well-established secondary school in Durham is seeking a Science Teacher to join its successful department. The role includes teaching across KS3 and KS4, with KS5 available for subject specialists.

The school is looking for a teacher who can deliver engaging practical and theory-based lessons, maintain high standards of safety in laboratory settings, and drive strong academic outcomes.

Key responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality Science lessons across KS3 and KS4
  • Teach GCSE Science (A-Level desirable but not essential)
  • Plan practical investigations safely and effectively
  • Monitor, assess and track pupil progress

The ideal candidate

  • QTS (or equivalent)
  • Specialism in Biology, Chemistry or Physics
  • Confident managing practical lessons and H&S requirements
  • Strong classroom management and organisational skills
