GCSE Science Tutor – Liverpool / Online (6 Hours per Week)
We are seeking a knowledgeable and dedicated GCSE Science Tutor to provide high-quality tuition for secondary students. This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified teacher who is passionate about supporting students to achieve success in their GCSE Science studies. The role offers flexibility, with sessions delivered either online or in person for candidates based in Liverpool, and ideally scheduled in the mornings.
As a GCSE Science Tutor, you will deliver focused, engaging sessions tailored to students’ individual needs, helping them build confidence, strengthen subject knowledge, and improve exam performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver targeted GCSE Science tuition as a GCSE Science Tutor, supporting students across Biology, Chemistry, and/or Physics.
- Adapt teaching approaches to meet individual learning needs and close knowledge gaps.
- Support students in developing exam techniques and confidence in preparation for GCSE assessments.
- Monitor and track student progress, adjusting sessions to maximise impact.
- Provide clear feedback to students (and parents where appropriate) on progress and next steps.
- Deliver sessions either online or in person (Liverpool-based) as a GCSE Science Tutor.
- Create a positive and supportive learning environment that encourages engagement and achievement.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential.
- Experience teaching the GCSE Science curriculum.
- Strong subject knowledge across one or more science disciplines.
- Experience supporting students to improve attainment and confidence.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- The ability to deliver engaging and structured tutoring sessions.
- Flexibility to deliver sessions in the mornings where possible.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
