SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Westerhope
Hours: 08:30 – 15:30, Monday to Friday
Contract: Full Time, Ongoing
A lovely, supportive primary school in Westerhope is seeking a dedicated and experienced 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full-time, ongoing basis.
This rewarding role will involve working 1:1 with a Year 2 pupil with additional needs. The school is looking for a compassionate, patient and committed individual who can provide consistent support to help the child access learning, develop socially and thrive within the classroom environment.
The Role
- Provide tailored 1:1 support for a pupil in Year 2
- Adapt learning activities to meet individual needs
- Support emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies
- Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement support plans
- Foster a safe, nurturing and structured learning environment
The Ideal Candidate Will:
- Have proven experience working with children with SEN including autism
- Demonstrate patience, empathy and a calm, caring approach
- Be confident implementing SEN strategies and behaviour support techniques
- Have strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships
- Be reliable, consistent and committed to making a meaningful difference
