Year 5 Teacher – Gateshead
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Year 5 Teacher to join a welcoming and supportive primary school in Gateshead. This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic practitioner who is committed to delivering high-quality teaching and supporting pupils as they progress through Key Stage 2.
As a Year 5 Teacher, you will play a key role in delivering engaging and well-structured lessons, helping pupils develop strong academic skills while fostering a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons as a Year 5 Teacher, in line with the national curriculum.
- Support pupils’ development across the KS2 curriculum, including English, maths, and foundation subjects.
- Assess, monitor, and track pupil progress, using data to inform planning and targeted support.
- Create a positive and structured classroom environment with strong behaviour management strategies.
- Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of all learners, ensuring all pupils can access the curriculum.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and support staff to ensure the best outcomes for pupils.
- Build strong relationships with pupils, parents, and carers to support academic progress and wellbeing.
- Ensure safeguarding procedures and school policies are followed at all times.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential.
- Strong experience teaching within Key Stage 2 – highly desirable.
- Excellent behaviour management skills and the ability to create a calm, structured learning environment.
- Strong subject knowledge across the primary curriculum.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- The ability to deliver engaging and differentiated lessons.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
