Job Title: Higher Level Teaching Assistant (Primary – Across All Key Stages)

The Role
We are looking for a confident and adaptable Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to work across all key stages in a friendly and inclusive Derby primary school. This role will involve delivering planned lessons in the teacher’s absence, supporting learning in-class, and providing targeted interventions where required. The ideal candidate will be experienced in managing a whole class, engaging pupils of different ages, and adapting to a variety of teaching styles and environments.
What We’re Looking For

Recent HLTA or teaching experience in a UK primary school

Ability to work across EYFS, KS1, and KS2

Strong classroom management skills with a positive, engaging approach

Flexibility to adapt to different year groups and subjects

A solid understanding of the primary curriculum

Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Key Responsibilities

Deliver pre-planned lessons across a range of year groups

Support learning through interventions and small group work

Provide whole-class cover when required

Manage pupil behaviour effectively to ensure a positive learning environment

Liaise with teaching staff to ensure continuity and progression in learning
